Blackberry | Bold | Rich

Harvested from century‑old vines in our Nicolai Vineyard, this Shiraz pays tribute to Barossa’s past. Fermented in open fermenters, gently pressed with a Water Bag press, then matured 18 months in French oak. It’s a classic expression—bold, structured, and crafted to develop further complexity with age.

Wine Orbit August 2024 – Sam Kim

“Richly fruited with notes of black and blueberry, floral lift, and toasted nut, this Shiraz shows excellent weight and a plump mouthfeel. The fleshy texture is beautifully framed by fine tannins, leading to a long and flavoursome finish.”

Vintage Conditions

The 2022 Barossa vintage was ideal for producing classic Shiraz. Good winter rains replenished soil reserves, setting up healthy canopies and even budburst. Spring remained mild with steady conditions through flowering and fruit set, resulting in balanced yields.

Warm, dry summer days combined with cool evenings encouraged gradual ripening, preserving vibrant fruit intensity and structure. A long, stable autumn ensured optimal harvest timing, delivering Shiraz with concentrated dark fruit, spice, and the depth to cellar gracefully.
