About Barritt Vineyards
Barritt Vineyards is a family-run estate rooted in the Barossa, where generations of tradition meet scientific care to craft wines with soul and character.
Our History
Today, fifth-generation grower Greg and his wife Lenore carry this legacy forward. Both raised in the Barossa, they share a deep love for the land and its vines. Greg, a biochemist, and Lenore, a biologist, bring scientific insight to age-old traditions, nurturing vineyards across Bethany and Rowland Flat.
For them, Barritt Vineyards is more than work - it is a lifelong passion project. The joy of tending vines, crafting wines, and preserving heritage is what excites them every day.
Together, they continue the family tradition of grape growing, uniting history and science to nurture vineyards across Bethany and Rowland Flat, and carrying forward a proud legacy of Barossa craftsmanship.
The Barritt family has been part of the Barossa Valley since the 1850s, descending from pioneers Joseph Barritt and Carl Sobels, whose early work in grape growing and winemaking helped shape the region.

Our Process
At Barritt Vineyards, our winemaking is guided by both heritage and science. Every grape is estate-grown on our family vineyards, allowing us to care for the vines from budburst to bottle.
We honour traditional methods – open fermentation, gentle pressing, and careful aging in both French and American oak – while applying our backgrounds in biochemistry and biology to ensure precision and balance at every stage. This blend of wisdom and scientific knowledge allows us to craft wines that are expressive of the land, honest in character, and made to be enjoyed for years to come.
For us, the process is not just about making wine, but about respecting the vines, the soil, and the generations of care that came before.
